Pakistan's federal cabinet has decided to cap the maximum retail price for injections of the Russian and Chinese Covid vaccine imported by the private sector amid a sharp rise in coronavirus cases and the absence of a broader government-funded vaccination program.
The government has set the maximum selling price for the Russian Sputnik V vaccine at Pakistani rupees 8,449 (about 54 US dollars) for two doses and the Chinese single-use vaccine Convidecia at Pakistani rupees 4,225 (27 US dollars) per injection, the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination said in a statement.
