The Pakistani government has decided to import the coronavirus vaccine from India, Planning Minister Asad Umar, who heads the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), confirmed Wednesday in an interview with local media.
According to the report, 45 million doses will be imported from the neighboring country as part of the Gavi vaccine alliance.
Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, is a Geneva-based international organization formed in 2000 to improve access to new and underused vaccines for children in the world's poorest countries. The alliance is currently playing an active role in the supply of the Covid-19 vaccine.
